New Games in February

Big titles are landing this month, and we’re excited to announce that Overwolf now offers overlay support for the following highly anticipated games. If you’ve been looking for your next big app idea, now’s the time to explore these new opportunities!

Sid Meier’s Civilization VII
The latest installment in the legendary strategy series is here! Civ 7 launched on February 11, 2025, bringing deep strategic gameplay and new mechanics. With millions of players worldwide, this is a perfect opportunity to create apps for strategy planning, resource tracking, and civilization guides.

Avowed
Obsidian Entertainment’s new RPG set in the Pillars of Eternity universe is one of the biggest releases of the year, launching February 18, 2025. Its rich, immersive world opens the door for apps that offer interactive maps, quest tracking, and character build optimizers.

Monster Hunter Wilds
The next evolution of the Monster Hunter series arrives on February 28, 2025, bringing larger open-world hunting experiences. Players will need gear optimization tools, monster hunting guides, and co-op coordination apps—perfect for Overwolf developers looking to tap into this massive community.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
This medieval RPG sequel launched on February 4, 2025, already selling over a million copies with a peak of 160k concurrent players on Steam. With deep mechanics, crafting, and historical realism, apps that provide quest guides, combat training, and economy management tools would be a great fit.

Tebex Updates

We’ve made some important updates to our Tebex integration, making it even easier to implement subscriptions and start earning:

• We’ve streamlined the Tebex Subscription documentation to make it easier for any developer to implement Tebex in their apps.
• We are launching an 'Everything Tebex' Slack channel (#tebex-overwolf), where you can ask questions, share experiences, and get technical support from our team and fellow developers.

Overwolf Discord Rich Presence Plugin

We're thrilled to introduce the Overwolf Discord Rich Presence Plugin, inspired by the community-developed project showcased here previously. This powerful new tool allows apps to integrate directly with Discord’s Rich Presence API and is optimized for seamless integration with Overwolf apps.

What Can It Do?

• Showcase user activity – Display in-app actions directly on a Discord user’s profile.
• Boost engagement – Let users share what they’re doing in real time.
• Fully customizable – Add custom artwork, game progress, and session duration tracking.

🏆Quest Complete - Recent Victories and Milestones

• Overwolf Native Version 0.270 - Improved the overlay performance, cleared unused app version files, and more. Check the notes here.
• Overwolf CEF - Over Overwolf Native version 0.266.131, the underlying CEF version was updated from version 120 to version 131.
• Overwolf Electron Version 31.7.7 - We have updated the underlying electron to version 31.7.7, Improved package updates while the app is running, and more! Check the notes here.
• Web Appstore Download Links - You can now add multiple download links to your store page for your different app builds (Electron/Mac/Linux) so users can get the build they need all in the same place! If you have multiple builds of your app, reach out to your DevRel to configure this option.
• New Games - We have added support for 179 new games! Look up the complete game list.
• Game Events - New events for Marvel Rivals, POE2, Fortnite, and more! Our roadmap lists all important GEP releases. See the various changelogs for released events here.

🏹On The Hunt - Ongoing Efforts and Progress Updates

• New Onboarding Documentation - Our team is hard at work to create updated and improved documentation for new developers that will assist with their app development and Overwolf journey.
• Upcoming Game Events - We are working to add new events for Overwatch 2, Escape From Tarkov, Valorant, CoD for Electron, and more! See upcoming events here.
• The Right Events for Apps - Found a game you want to make an app for, but there are no events? Let us know by posting a request in our Discord requests forum! (make sure you have joined our Discord community to get access).
