Major changes in Tebex for Overwolf Apps are coming this October!
This October, We will be lowering the standard Overwolf/Tebex fees from 15% to 5%.
This is the perfect time to implement Tebex in your app; you will get to keep more revenue from every sale. Payment gateway fees, sales tax, and refunds remain unchanged, so what lands in your account is still affected on how and where your customers pay, as always. But you keep more of every sale starting Q4. Following your feedback and requests, we also have exciting new Tebex updates to share:
New Payment Methods and One-time Purchase
We are happy to introduce five additional regional payment methods that now support recurring subscriptions:
- AliPay in China
- UPI in India
- PIX in Brazil
- Line Pay in Thailand
- Naver Pay in South Korea
Until today, they have worked only for one-time purchases. Now, any buyer can buy a subscription package with any of these payment methods.
Additionally, a customer can purchase a subscription package with a non-recurring payment method, such as crypto or iDEAL. They get access for a single subscription period (i.e., one month) rather than an ongoing subscription.
Regional Pricing and Subscription Tiers
Regional pricing is now supported on Overwolf Apps. Set different prices per region/geo instead of a single global price.
Subscription tiers and upsells now work together. Instead of one flat price, you offer several tiers and let users move between them. Upsells are now being supported on subscription packages. In practice, a user checking out will be exposed to all different tiers, and an existing subscriber can be offered to upgrade to a premium plan. Until now, upsells were limited to one-time packages. We listened to your feedback, and we improved it.
Free Trials
Free trials are available for your users! Offer free trials in any plan: 1, 3, 7, 10, 14, or 30 days before the first charge. It is set as part of the package, so you can trial one tier and not another, test it for a launch, turn it off afterward, and change the length without touching the rest of your pricing.
For your users, this is the best option between "I am not sure" and a paying subscriber, because it lets them experience the real value your subscription offers.
Subscription Management Portal
Your users now have a centralized place to manage all their subscriptions, saving you time and support bandwidth while empowering gamers with greater transparency and control over their purchases.Your users can go there to manage their subscriptions and see their payment history.

- Regional pricing, tiers, free trials, and the new payment methods are now available and configurable from your Tebex dashboard.
- If you are still handling cancellations, payment method changes, and billing history by hand, moving forward, send your users to portal.tebex.io.
- We’ll automatically apply the fee update starting this October, so you don't need to do a thing.
For the avoidance of doubt, Tebex operations are governed by your developer agreement and Tebex's terms.
