Despite the many challenges the world has faced, 2024 has been a fantastic year in terms of new features, growth and revenue. More importantly, it has been a year in which your creativity and dedication made a meaningful impact on the gaming community and industry. Your apps have enriched players’ experiences, built stronger communities, and reminded everyone of the joy gaming can bring, even in turbulent times.
Thank you for being such an essential part of this vibrant ecosystem. We’re proud to serve you, and we’re excited to see what amazing things we’ll achieve together in the year ahead.

2024 in Apps
2024 has been a fantastic year for Overwolf and our developer community! We’re thrilled to share the highlights of 2024 with you through a special infographic showcasing key achievements, milestones, and numbers from the Overwolf community. Take a moment to celebrate how far we’ve come together:
December Revenue
As we close out 2024, it’s important to note the usual seasonal trends in ad revenue. With many ad budgets wrapping up before the end of December, we anticipate a gradual decline in revenue metrics in early January. However, this is part of the expected cycle, and revenue typically begins to recover by mid-Q1.

🏆Quest Complete - Recent Victories and Milestones
- Overwolf Native Version 0.266 - Improved apps’ startup time and more. Check the notes here.
- New Overwolf Legal Site - We’ve just launched a sleek new Legal Center, your centralized home for all the Overwolf legal docs you need. No more digging around! Everything is now in one clear, organized spot. Check it out here.
- New Games - We have added support for 42 new games! Look up the full game list.
- Game Events - New events for SUPSERVIVE, Path of Exile 2, and more! Our roadmap lists all important GEP releases. See the various changelogs for released events here.
🏹On The Hunt - Ongoing Efforts and Progress Updates
- Electron CRN - A new and improved method for CRN (Content Recommendation Notification) in electron apps! We are running tests with a better CRN flow, allowing one-click installation.
- New Exciting Games - Marvel Rivals exploded early this month and is holding firm at #4 in Steam sales with 250k players online at all times! It’s also the 6th most played game on Overwolf, with over 2.1M players this month. Path of Exile 2, released on the same day, is even higher on the seller’s list (placed #2) and managed an all-time peak of 1,2M players on Steam! On Overwolf it’s placed #7 with a daily average of 270k players.
Both games are already available for overlay! See Path of Exile 2 events here; Marvel Rivals events are coming soon. - Upcoming Game Events - We are working to add new events for Marvel Rivals, Baldur’s Gate 3, Genshin Impact for Electron, and more! See upcoming events here.
- The Right Events for Apps - Found a game you want to make an app for, but there are no events? Let us know by posting a request in our Discord requests forum! (make sure you have joined our Discord community to get access).
🧡Support Main - Community Highlights and Updates
- Community Contribution to the Overwolf-Discord Rich Presence - In our November Newsletter, we announced the release of the Overwolf-Discord Rich Presence plugin and its documentation. We neglected to mention that this great plugin was created by two of our most veteran community developers: Leon and Dowmeister, both are responsible for numerous apps in the Overwolf Appstore.
Seeing the community collaborate and get involved in creating tools for other developers is priceless. We would like to give them a huge shoutout for their contributions, community efforts, and excellent work on this project! - Want to own some cool Overwolf swag?
